Haines family,
We hope everyone had an enchanted week at Haines.
Attendance and Morning Reminders:
School begins at 7:45 AM each day. Students arriving at 7:50 AM are marked tardy.
Families may enter absences directly in ASPEN, and absence notes are available if needed. Attendance matters at Haines; being consistent and on-time arrival helps students start their day calmly and ready to learn.
This week, students continued practicing the routines that support a successful school year. They are transitioning smoothly through classes, lunch, and recess; collaborating with peers; and building independence throughout the day. These early habits lay the foundation for strong learning all year long.
Don’t forget about Haines’ Dress Code:
Students are expected to dress in a manner appropriate for school that supports a positive learning environment. Student appearance should not distract teachers or other students or disrupt the instructional program. Any concerns regarding attire will be reviewed by school administration. The school dress code applies to all school-related functions and field trips.
Students must wear close‑toed shoes, such as gym shoes, boots, dress shoes, or indoor shoes with rubber soles, while open‑toed footwear like flip‑flops and Crocs is not permitted for safety.
Chicago Public Schools uses MealViewer to give families a fast, digital way to check daily breakfast and lunch menus 24/7 on the web or through a mobile smartphone app.
